Description
North Pacific Black Nickel Clawpoint Hooks (100/box)
Made of High Carbon Steel with an Anti-Rust Coating, the North Pacific Claw point hook is extremely sharp and stronger than Stainless Steel. The Black Nickel finish hooks last about 3 weeks for Commercial Fishers. A favorite on the west coast for salmon trolling because the North Pacific Claw point hook is lighter, stronger and the tip is extremely sharp compared to the Stainless Hook. This results in more action on the Lure. Use a Jinkai SC-3C Crimper to easily close the eye and crimp the barb.
The North Pacific Claw point Siwash Hooks are made of Hi Carbon Steel available in either a Tin or Black Nickel finish. The pattern is based on the original Duranickel hook. Our hook is stronger and the eye is easier to close than the stainless hook. It is also lighter than a stainless steel hook. The tip is razor sharp. It is available from 3/0 - 9/0 in barbed and barbless.
For Fishermen who use the Russell Black Box which regulates the amount of electric current going to your Lure, Malcolm Russell recommends the North Pacific Hi Carbon Clawpoint Black Nickel Finish hook as the ideal hook to use for the Black Box. With this hook, there will be no loss of electric voltage as the current passes through the trolling wire because hi carbon steel is a good conductor. The hook will rust in 5 days to a week if you use a Black Box compared to a stainless or tin finished hook which are inert metals (not good conductor). Russell said " what do you want to use, a hook that will catches more Salmon and rust or a hook that stays shiny but catches less"
