Sharping your fishing knives using King Ceramic Sharpening Stone

The King sharpening stone is a ceramic stone so to prepare the stone for sharpening knives, the customer has to lubricate the stone in water and not in oil.

Soak the stone in water for about 5 minutes.

This stone is a combination stone, coarse on one side (300 grit) and medium fine  on the other side (1000 grit)

If the knife is really dull, the first step is to use the coarse side to produce an edge. I would think 10 strokes on each side of the blade at an angle of 20 degree would produce an edge.

Follow up with the medium fine grit by using 10 strokes on each side of the blade at the same angle

The med/fine grit will put a finishing touch on the blade removing any burs remaining on the knife giving it a very sharp blade.

If you don't drop and break the Ceramic Water Stone, the King water stone will last a long time.

You can use Dexter's Diamond Coated Sharpening Steel to get a sharp edge on a knife as well. I use the Diamond Coated Sharpening Steel to hone the blade which removes any burs which dulls the knife.

I always use the Sun Tiger (King) Water Stone to sharpen my knives and use the Dexter Diamond Sharpener to touch up and remove any burs on the blade.
